Target Audience
I'm aiming my audience for anyone interested in becoming a journalism student, or who is interested in my website design or feature work. This could include employers, or people I apply to for work experience. I also want other students in my university to see my website.
Designing
For my design, I wanted to represent my girly nature, so I want to add a picture of myself on the left hand side of each page. Each picture will also represent the page that I'm; i.e. a picture of me writing on paper to represent my 'current work' page.
I'm also considering using multimedia structure to show my articles, because I personally dislike scrolling, so I don't want to make my audience do the same. I'm not sure if I want to open the features in a new window, as there are many pros and cons, i.e. taking people away from the website, allowing people to keep the features in the background.
I'm also considering putting animated gifs into my profile page. This is because, I don't want to have a 'picture' page, as it's a waste of a page and I think it will annoy my audience. If I use gifs, I can choose what pictures I want and allow my audience to see pictures as well as reading my material. However, this could also distract them from reading my profile.
Navigation
I'm going to have three main groups: profile, current work and links. Then, I want to give my current work page three more groups: print, canvas and assessment online feature. I'm unsure if I want to split my links into groups, as I don't want my audience to become bored with going from page to page, without getting the information they want.
